She has me curious about these Smart Pot Compost Saks- It's a "geo-textile fabric" sack that can hold up to 12 cubic feet of material. I can see the appeal in that it's easier to move around than a compost bin and has better aeration than a trash can composter would. Hmm maybe I'll try one of these for the spring time...

Interesting observation about straw and hay being difficult for his chickens to rummage through. I'd still take those materials over wood chips, but I've seen wood chips work a few times, even in videos I just previously posted. I'm long overdue for some sawdust dumpster diving... time to make a video? :)
