My favorite dude Ray just posted a video on how he makes his compost tea (starting at 4 mins). What’s awesome about Ray, other than everything, is that he shows a technique that doesn’t involve any real “technology” to make it happen. Quite often compost tea is made using an air pump to keep the batch from going anaerobic (no oxygen), which ultimately smells bad and will really harm your plants.
Note his tip about chlorine as well…I use a rain barrel for collecting water for most things, which doesn’t have chlorine in it. As Ray says, if you’re using water out of the tap, let it sit for a day before starting your batch. Anyway, check out his video for a super easy and free way to make a ton of fertilizer for nothing:

I love your videos! Really inspires me to shoot some for my site. I love the wealth of information you provide. Great fun and I look forward to seeing more!
Hi, I just bought the Enviro-cycle cycle compost tumbler, and am wondering if I need to remove the plugs from the three circles in the middle in order to collect compost tea? It didn’t come with instructions! Thanks so much!
I’d recommend leaving the plugs in until you have a batch of compost that seems close to being finished before attempting to get compost tea from it.
I’ve found that I had some great results by simply following Praxxus’ method in this post… a handful of compost in a bucket, fill it with water and stir.
Thanks for posting and let me know how it goes!
OMG I know this guy in the video!
