Composting 101: Ins & Outs [Quick Start to Composting Part 1]

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nrbTcYMQXyY Here's an excellent comprehensive video on how to compost at home- I especially like her instructions on what's compostable, what's not, and what's a maybe... her information is on point. I disagree regarding avoiding meat, dairy and oily foods, but it doesn't really bother me either. Just add these items into the center of the pile like everything else and add enough cover material on top... good to go. That's it! My crotchety two cents aside, this video does a great job explaining composting for beginners and I'm a new fan of her channel. :)

Is the material warm? Here I have a few different samples of compost...vermicompost, tumbler compost, commercial compost, and trench compost. What do you think of these samples?  I feel like my tumbler compost and vermicastings could both go even longer before using them, but that they're still OK if I were to use them now.  In fact, I'm going to use these samples for my next "Clash of The Composts!" experiment coming soon... stay tuned!
