Scientists unearth the secrets of mushroom compost

Apparently an abundance of mushroom compost is a problem in the E.U.

In this video, scientists look at using it for fuel, as a biopesticide, and other applications.

According to the article, it’s comprised of chicken litter, straw, gypsum and peat- why not use it as a soil amendment?  I’m confused.
